Montenegro and THE ROMANI PEOPLE
Montenegro, Ulotina
August, 2021
In this intimate series, Elisabetta returns to her roots, embodying both herself and her jewelry in the countryside of Montenegro — among landscapes and quiet corners that hold personal meaning.
The shoot moves between ancestral memory and lived presence, capturing places closest to her heart.
With deep respect, Elisabetta also chose to photograph members of the Romani community — often misrepresented and misunderstood. As the third-largest ethnic group in Serbia and Montenegro, the Romani people have shaped the cultural rhythm of the Balkans through their music, spirit, and resilience.
This work is both personal offering and tribute.
A reflection on identity, belonging, and the unseen weight of memory carried through the body.
